Rev. Daniel J. Doty

Rev. Dan holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Bowling Green State University and has taught in school systems in Ohio and Illinois. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL. Dan has served United Methodist and UCC churches in Illinois and Ohio. Dan is a classically trained opera singer who has performed in Europe, America and made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall in NYC in 2017.

Wendy Brown

Wendy Brown joined the staff of First Congregational Church in June 2004 and serves as Director of Christian Education. Wendy organizes the Sunday morning activities for children up through grade 8. These activities include Sunday school, nursery care and children’s worship. She is a graduate of Westminster College with a degree in education. Wendy loves working with children and encourages them to learn about God through hands-on activities.

Nancy Lynn Robinson

Nancy Lynn Robinson came to the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge in March, 2002 as the Organist, and in September, 2006, she assumed the position of Director of Christian Music. Before her arrival at First Congregational Church, she was the Director of Music/Organist at The First Baptist Church of Akron for 10 years. She has been playing organ and directing choirs since she was in high school.

Cathy Cotter

Cathy Cotter is the newest employee of the FCC, as she joined the staff in December of 2019. She is one of the first people you will talk to when visiting or calling the church during the week. Cathy produces the Sunday worship bulletins and The Herald, the church’s monthly newsletter and also manages the church office.

Bill Hoover

Finance Administrator

A three-time graduate from Kent State University with an MBA degree, Bill worked for 28 years in the banking industry, mostly with commercial clients, many of whom were churches and not-for-profit organizations. Bill joined the staff here in 2012 and works closely with the Financial Secretary and Treasurer in managing Church finances.
