Rev. David was educated at Kutztown University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with a minor in Music. He received a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. He also received Clinical Pastoral Care Education and served at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Rev. David was ordained with full ministerial standing in the United Church of Christ in November, 1986.
Wendy Brown joined the staff of First Congregational Church in June 2004 and serves as Director of Christian Education. Wendy organizes the Sunday morning activities for children up through grade 8. These activities include Sunday school, nursery care and children’s worship. She is a graduate of Westminster College with a degree in education. Wendy loves working with children and encourages them to learn about God through hands-on activities.
Nancy Lynn Robinson came to the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge in March, 2002 as the Organist, and in September, 2006, she assumed the position of Director of Christian Music. Before her arrival at First Congregational Church, she was the Director of Music/Organist at The First Baptist Church of Akron for 10 years. She has been playing organ and directing choirs since she was in high school.
Cathy Cotter is the newest employee of the FCC, as she joined the staff in December of 2019. She is one of the first people you will talk to when visiting or calling the church during the week. Cathy produces the Sunday worship bulletins and The Herald, the church’s monthly newsletter and also manages the church office.
Rachel Tassile graduated from Calvin University in 2015 with a BSW and Fordham University in 2019 with a Masters in Social Work. She and her husband Scott got married in 2016. Rachel is the church’s youth ministry coordinator.
From Zombie hunting, Minute to Win it games, to serious discussions on who the youth want to be when they are adults, you can find Rachel during the week in the church office or on Sundays with her middle and high school groups.
A three-time graduate from Kent State University with an MBA degree, Bill worked for 28 years in the banking industry, mostly with commercial clients, many of whom were churches and not-for-profit organizations. Bill joined the staff here in 2012 and works closely with the Financial Secretary and Treasurer in managing Church finances.
Teresa has been a custodian at FCC since 2010. She takes a lot of pride in cleaning our church. Teresa is a proud mother of her daughter April, and a very proud “MIMI” for her two grandsons Gavin and Cohen. Teresa always says she has the best job, cleaning “God’s” house.
