HIGH SCHOOL FELLOWSHIP

High School Fellowship is for all students in grades 9 – 12. Whether we’re going places or staying at church, our goal is to have a great time together, affirm each person, and grow in our faith. Meeting times vary during the month. For current events, refer to the latest Herald newsletter.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FELLOWSHIP

Middle School Fellowship is for those in grades 6 – 8, and meets each Sunday afternoon.  This fellowship, led by Wendy Brown, combines crazy games, group bonding, and discussions of faith; it is a safe and fulfilling time each week to let down and renew.

For current events, refer to the latest Herald newsletter.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is a rite of the church done in worship. Liturgically it is an “affirmation of Baptism.” In the context of our life’s journey in the Church, it is an occasion for deepening and expanding our understanding about our faith. As such Confirmation is the rite by which the church and the one desiring confirmation recognizes a strengthened faith. Faith grows at many points in life and, therefore, Confirmation is not an end to a process but the beginning of a committed life to follow the teachings of Jesus.

After learning about our identity in Christ in the context of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge and the United Church of Christ, confirmands take a trip to Boston to explore our Congregationalist roots. Confirmands may then become members of the church.

All youth 8th grade and above are welcome to join our Confirmation class each fall in order to prepare to make this sacred rite.

YOUTH MISSION TOUR

An annual week-long trip in the summer for high school students, sometimes in partnership with college students and adults. The location changes each year. In past years, we have served in inner-city Chicago, repaired homes in rural Kentucky, and built new housing in Birmingham for disaster relief.
