Join in with our ministry partner, First Serve, for their annual day of service on Sunday, September 8th.

FCC is joining in with our ministry partner, First Serve for their 13th annual day of service on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Who is First Serve you ask? Established in 2012, First Serve continues to be an annual day of service held during the second Sunday in September led by First Congregational Church of Hudson. Over 500 First Serve volunteers work on projects located at partner organizations and residential sites in the North Hill Community of Akron. Projects are designed to support the work these organizations are doing in the community while at the same time providing opportunities for volunteers to be immersed in the neighborhood. First Serve’s year-round presence in North Hill provides volunteers the opportunity to continue the relationship with our partner organizations.
First Serve has 450 volunteers already signed up across the area to take part in multiple projects on its annual day of service. There are still projects spots available that are in need of volunteers. The serve day is for all ages and an array of skill levels from being a greeter, a singer in the choir for the interfaith service to physical work. There is no fee for registration. The day will start with coffee, donuts and t-shit pick up at 8am with an interfaith sending service from 8:30-9am at Trinity UCC in Akron. There are morning and afternoon projects times with lunch included. For more information, to go joinfirstserve.org/.
