CELEBRATION OF LIFE PLANNING WORKSHOP

Saturday, May 20 at 9:00 am

The FCC congregation is invited to a Celebration of Life Planning Workshop. Many times, when I meet with a family to plan a service for the celebration of the life of a loved one, someone invariably says, “I’ve never done this before.” Planning a celebration of life service (funeral service) is not something we do on a regular basis. That shouldn’t, however, preclude us from making plans for us or a loved one.

Over the years, I have compiled a planning manual to help folks plan and pre-plan their final service. I’ve found the more a final service can be planned, the less burdensome the time of loss becomes to a family in grief. At the workshop, we will go over the manual and discuss what the time around a loss of a loved one looks like. I will have a funeral home director on hand to answer any questions you might have when it comes to their practices and policies. (There will be no selling of services at that time – only the answering of questions.)

This workshop will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 9:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. This will take the place of the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. This will be an all-church breakfast with the morning meal being sponsored by the Elders Ministry of FCC. Please call the church office to RSVP by May 15 (or sign up on Sign-Up Genius) so that we can plan on enough food.
