Daily Bible Reflections…

APRIL 6 – Then Jesus cried aloud:  “Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me.  And whoever sees me  sees him who sent me.  I have come as light into the world so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in darkness.”   John 12:44-45

APRIL 7- Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your       heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment.  And the second is like it:  You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the  prophets.”  Matthew 22:37-40

APRIL 8 – Jesus told his disciples:  “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”    Matthew 26:2

APRIL 9 – While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, ‘take, this is my body.’  Then he took a cup and after giving thanks he gave it to them, and all of them drank from it.  He said to them, ‘This is the blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.’  Mark 14:22-24

APRIL 10 – Then Jesus said (from the cross), “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”   Luke 23:34

APRIL 11 – It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning.  The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed, and saw the tomb and how his (Jesus’) body was laid.  Then they returned, and prepared spices and ointments.  On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.          Luke 23:54-56

APRIL 12 – They (the women who prepared the spices) found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went into the tomb, they did not find the body of Jesus.        While whey were perplexed about this, suddenly two         men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?    He is not here,  but has risen.”  Luke 24:2-5
