Clergy and Staff
Neal Sadler is a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ. After 35 years of ministry serving UCC churches in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio, he retired from settled ministry in May, 2017. He now serves churches in interim and transitional settings. He is a former actuary with degrees from the University of Michigan (A.B.; MBA) (oops, sorry about that Buckeye fans), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and Asbury Theological Seminary (D.Min.).
Neal has journeyed with his congregations through visioning and strategic planning processes, capital campaigns and governance restructuring, worship re-visioning and Christian education redevelopment, and much more. Above all, he has journeyed with them through the joys and challenges of life together as a community of Christ seeking to love and serve God. His joy is helping churches grow in faith, hope, and love, seeking to become the church that God call us to be. He sometimes enjoys creating sermons that reveal biblical truth in story form. He has also had a special interest in missions, both local and global. He has led numerous mission trips, both overseas and in our country.
Neal enjoys hiking and backpacking, travelling and writing. He and his wife, Carolyn, ride a tandem bicycle exploring America through the numerous bike paths across our country. Carolyn is also a former actuary, and happily retired. Their daughter, Debby, works as a goat farmer in the state of Washington. Their son, Nathan, lives in Vermont, and is married to a UCC Pastor, Katelyn Macrae. Nathan is a computer engineer working for the U.S. Patent Office.
